Jason and Jara will read from and discuss the 2025 published book, The German Playbook, created by Anti-Zionist Jews based in Switzerland. Inspired by Palestinian-German lawyer Nadija Samour, The German Playbook explores Germany’s method and system of repression deployed against the movement for Palestine and evaluates how this Playbook is used abroad, especially here in Switzerland. After reading passages from the book and discussing lived experiences, Jara and Jason will open up the space for imagining ways of responding to this neo-fascist Playbook and creating futures of collective safety.
Jara Nassar (she/any) is a writer and artist focusing on political violence and queer migrant issues. Her first play, Baba Dein Herz, deals with the everyday lives of four women in the West Bank and premiered in Innsbruck in July 2025. In addition to plays, she writes poetry, prose, and essays, which have been published in various German and international magazines. She studies dramatic writing at the Berlin University of the Arts.
Jason Oberman (they/them/she) is an Ashkenazi Jewish US-American living in Zürich. As a musician, composer, scholar, author, and educator, Jason researches, teaches, and writes about Jewish identity, Zionism, and German neo-fascism.
